Lauren Sánchez’s ‘Something Borrowed’ for Her Wedding to Jeff Bezos Cost a Whopping $5 Million

We’ve all heard that phrase some brides stick to on their wedding day with “something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue.” Well, Lauren Sánchez , who married Amazon founderJeff Bezos on June 27, chose a “something borrowed” that’s worth million.

More than 200 guests including plenty of A-list celebrities descended on Venice to celebrate all the festivities leading up to what was dubbed the “wedding of the year.”

Some of the high-profile people who were spotted in the Italian city included Kim Kardashian, Kris Jenner, Kylie Jenner, Kendall Jenner, Khloe Kardashian, Orlando Bloom, Bill Gates, Tom Brady, Leonardo Di Caprio and Vittoria Ceretti, Usher and Jenn Goicoechea, Oprah Winfrey, Gayle King, Sydney Sweeney, and Ellie Goulding to name a few.

For her big day, Sánchez shared that her “something blue” was an item from her space flight on Blue Origin, which is Bezos’ space company, and her “something borrowed” is a pair of Dolce & Gabbana earrings. Here’s more on that and what Sánchez had to say about her very “covered up” wedding dress.

Sánchez’s ‘something borrowed’ was a pair of earrings worth $5 million

The diamond experts at U.K. jewelry retailer Steven Stone took a closer look and revealed the details about her stunning “something borrowed” with the hefty price tag.

Maxwell Stone told Showbiz Cheat Sheet: “For her big day, Lauren chose a dazzling ‘something borrowed’ — the exquisite Dolce & Gabbana Alta Gioielleria ‘Miracolo’ Earrings, which are expertly crafted from four pear-cut diamonds, all carved from a single magnificent original stone.

“The top diamonds sparkle at approximately 6 carats each, while the stunning pendants below boast an impressive 15 carats apiece, creating an unforgettable statement of elegance. The pear cut itself is rich in symbolism, often representing tears of joy or the promise of new beginnings – a fitting tribute to a wedding celebration.”

Stone added: “While it hasn’t been officially confirmed, the earrings bear a striking resemblance to those Lauren wore in 2024 at the Dolce & Gabbana Alta Sartoria runway show in Sardinia. She attended the event with her son, Nikko González, who was one of the models walking the runway. I’d estimate the value of the breathtaking earrings to be around $5 million, reflecting their extraordinary craftsmanship and rarity.”

Sánchez wore a gown many didn’t expect her to

Sánchez’s wedding dress was specifically designed by Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana. The bride got the inspiration for her high-necked lace gown from what Sophia Loren wore to marry Cary Grant in the 1958 film Houseboat.

During an interview with Vogue, Sánchez explained, “I researched pictures of brides in the 1950s. I wanted to reflect back, and I saw Sophia Loren and her hands were like this and she was in high lace, up to the neck, and I said, ‘That’s it. That’s the dress.’”

Sánchez added that it was the first formal dress she has ever worn that is so covered up over her chest, saying: “It is a departure from what people expect from what I expect–but it’s very much me.”
