Lauren Graham thinks a Christmas special would be a quick way to return to Stars Hollow.

Lauren Graham never counts out the possibility of reconnecting with the Gilmore Girls cast. The famed actor has discussed the potential of a second revival multiple times over the years and has made it clear that she is always open to reprising the role of Lorelai Gilmore. While she’s happy to entertain the idea, Graham recently revealed there is only one way she could envision a return to Stars Hollow working right now. She thinks the cast and crew need to take a page out of British television’s book.

Lauren Graham recently appeared on Armchair Expert and opened up about her career and what it would take to get her to appear in another Gilmore Girls revival. Graham revealed she could imagine a second revival if the cast and crew approached it as a Christmas special.

Graham said she loves how British television approaches its most iconic shows. She notes they like returning to them for holiday specials instead of full revivals. According to Graham, she could see the concept working for Gilmore Girls, especially as the original cast remains busy and active with other projects. She theorized that multiple episodes would be challenging to make work at this point. That doesn’t mean she’s completely closed off to the idea, though.

The iconic actor is really open to anything

Lauren Graham thinks a British approach to a revival could be the fastest way forward. Still, she is open to anything Amy Sherman-Palladino wishes to throw at her. Last month, Graham appeared on The Late Show with Jimmy Fallon. Once again, she discussed the potential of a Gilmore Girls revival.

Graham told Fallon that she’s always open to a Gilmore Girls project because, despite appearing in several successful projects since then, Lorelai Gilmore was the best part she’s ever played. She’s not the only one who shares the sentiment. Kelly Bishop, who took on the role of Emily Gilmore, and Scott Patterson, who portrayed Luke Danes, have both said they are open to reprising their roles again. Patterson currently hosts a rewatch podcast about the series. He recently asked fans to manifest a second revival. It is clear he is “all in.”

While no announcements have been made about a second revival, fans remain hopeful. The holiday-themed Walmart ad featuring everyone’s favorite Gilmore Girls characters reignited interest in a second revival. Whether that will spur action remains to be seen.
