Lauren Graham has had several successful projects since the end of Gilmore Girls. She has a new project that recently launched, too. Still, she’ll always be Lorelai Gilmore to many of her fans. While Graham has moved on with her acting career, she always holds space for Gilmore Girls. Graham recently revealed that there is one reason she’ll never say no to a project that brings her back to Stars Hollow. A second Gilmore Girls revival isn’t out of the question.
Lauren Graham reveals the reason she’s always open to another ‘Gilmore Girls’ project
Lauren Grahm recently appeared on The Late Show with Jimmy Fallon to discuss her life and acting career. As is typical, Gilmore Girls came up during the course of the conversation. She told Fallon that while she doesn’t have any insider information about another Gilmore Girls revival, she’s always open to the idea. Graham revealed to Fallon, who insists he is a Gilmore Girls fan, that she always holds space for more Gilmore Girls projects.
Graham said that she’s always down to return to Stars Hollow and reprise her role as Lorelai Gilmore because it was the best part she has ever had. Despite the years that have gone by, she remains connected to the role and the vibrant world that showrunner Amy Sherman-Palladino created. Fans have remained connected to her, too.
While there is no news about a second revival season, fans reconnected with Lorelai Gilmore, Luke Danes, and the world of Stars Hollow in December 2024. Graham reprised her role as Lorelai in a Walmart holiday commercial. Scott Patterson and Sean Gunn returned as Luke Danes and Kirk Gleason, respectively. Patterson has been open about his desire to return once more to Stars Hollow. He recently asked fans to “manifest” a second revival season.
‘Gilmore Girls’ is more popular now than during its original run
Gilmore Girls is a bit of an anomaly. The series was considered just a modest success during its original run. The show won exactly one Emmy in its seven-season history and had an extremely tight budget. Still, it entertained the masses. The series, however, found brand new life when it landed on Netflix in 2014. It was recently added to Hulu and Disney+.
In the years since the series landed on streaming service providers, it has found new fans. In fact, it is far more popular today than when the series first aired. Several experts have weighed in on why the series has experienced a resurgence. The simplicity of the show, its themes, and its witty banter all speak to viewers, regardless of their ages. Yanic Truesdale, the actor who played Michele Gerard, told the New York Times that people have approached him for years, insisting the series has gotten them through tough times, like surgeries and losing loved ones. While the series has plenty of fans, Netflix hasn’t made a move to produce a second Gilmore Girls revival. Maybe now is the right time.
