King Charles and Prince Archie haven’t been close in years, with rumors the two have almost no relationship. But they do have one fun hobby in common, whether they like it or not.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are raising their two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, across the pond. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex relocated from the United Kingdom to Montecito, California back in 2020, and the kids have been growing up there ever since. Archie and Lili don’t have a close relationship with their grandfather, King Charles.

Archie is taking up fun hobbies in the California sun, which Meghan talked about during one of her With Love, Meghan episodes. And it turns out he seems to be good at one thing the king also enjoys.

Prince Archie has a knack for fishing, Meghan Markle revealed

With Love, Meghan is Meghan’s way of showing the world who she is without the press making assumptions about her. The show features Meghan in what she considers to be her element: all things lifestyle. She cooks, she hosts, and she decorates — all while enjoying the occasional cocktail with a friend. And while she does this, she makes conversation, which sometimes has her opening up about her own family pastimes and traditions.

During a recent episode where Meghan hosted two friends, she talked about making a salt-baked fish for lunch and pairing it with other bright, light side dishes like veggies. And while chatting with friends, Meghan revealed that her son has quite the hand for fishing.

“Do you remember last year when I went on a family vacation, and I told you Archie caught two fish? Like, what are we going to do with this fish?” Meghan said to her friends.

She continued, “So we just did a big salt-baked fish. I had two kids, and we had two trout. I was like, we are going to salt bake a fish because it would be fun for them. They loved it. It was very sweet.”

King Charles and Prince Archie both love to fish

It looks like Archie might have inherited this skill from Grandpa Charles. According to Express, Charles has a big love for fly fishing, which is something that was passed down from his father, the late Prince Philip. And growing up, Prince Harry and Prince William used to fish alongside their dad. Now, Harry and Archie have the chance to engage in the same fun father-son hobby.

Things between Archie and Charles reportedly aren’t great. The two hardly have a relationship since Harry and Meghan have done so much to distance themselves from Harry’s royal relatives. Over the last five years, there has been optimism that Charles and his grandkids would reconnect, but so far, we don’t have much of a reason to think this is in the cards.
