Warner Bros. has plans to remake the 1992 Hollywood classic The Bodyguard. Sam Wrench, the director of Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour, is reportedly directing the remake. Swifties assumed Swift may play a pivotal role in The Bodyguard, perhaps even taking on the role that Whitney Houston played in the original. However, a source told DailyMail.com that the writers “specifically tailored” the new script to fit Kim Kardashian as the lead.
“Everyone immediately assumed Taylor would get the lead, the role played by Whitney Houston in the original film, because The Bodyguard remake is being directed by Sam Wrench, who directed the 2023 film about Taylor’s ‘Eras Tour,’” the source revealed. “But Warner Bros, the studio remaking the original, is very keen on Kim. … There have already been multiple meetings, and the script has been written with Kim in mind.”
Many assume the filmmakers will remake the film into a musical. However, the source says they hope to take the remake in a “different direction using a global celebrity.” The filmmakers also allegedly want to remake the classic as a “straightforward drama.”
According to the insider, Kim Kardashian “believes she has what it takes to be a major movie star.” Everyone feels “excited” for her to have this opportunity.
