Rapper Kid Cudi, real name Scott Mescudi, recently embarked on a new and deeply romantic chapter of his life by marrying fashion designer Lola Abecassis Sartore. The pair first connected behind the scenes at Virgil Abloh’s debut Louis Vuitton show in 2018, where their eyes met and sparked a quiet yet powerful connection. While speaking to Call Her Daddy podcast host Alex Cooper, Mescudi delved into how he feels “totally complete” with Sartore. And he even hinted at additional children in his future.
Kid Cudi discussed how he feels ‘complete’ with his wife, Lola Abecassis Sartore
Kid Cudi discussed his magnetic connection with Lola Abecassis Sartore while on the Call Her Daddy podcast. Mescudi noted that as soon as he saw her at Virgil Abloh’s debut Louis Vuitton show, he knew he wanted to ask her on a date. He asked if she had a boyfriend, and she said no. After exchanging numbers, Mescudi and Sartore hung out during the afterparty.
Cudi proposed in Kyoto at the end of 2023 in an intimate moment, and they announced their engagement publicly in April 2024. Their wedding on June 28, 2025, was a dreamy, fashion-forward celebration held at Cap Estel in Èze, a picturesque estate overlooking the Mediterranean and close to Sartore’s hometown. The celebration included heartfelt tributes to the late Virgil Abloh, such as a bounce castle and music by BadBadNotGood, and even saw Cudi serenade his bride with two unreleased songs inspired by their love.
“I thought I was happy before, but she just put a little extra sauce on it,” Mescudi continued. “I feel totally complete and at peace. Because before her, there was something missing. I was happy, right? … But I always felt that something was missing. And it’s always been my dream to be married, and have more kids, and build a little posse of children, you know? To have someone who wants that and respects you and uplifts you in your darkest moments when you’re not feeling confident about work, or whatever it may be, that’s there for you and is a real best friend.”
The rapper noted the moment when he knew he wanted to ‘get the ring’
Kid Cudi noted a moment of clarity he had with his now-wife, Lola Abecassis Sartore. After establishing their “easy” connection and having Sartore visit him in Los Angeles, he finally asked her whether she’d consider moving to his city.
“It wasn’t until she made a few trips to LA, where I was kind of, like, just seeing it,” Mescudi explained. “Like, the full picture. She’s in my house. I see it all, right? I just asked her; I was like, ‘Hey. Would you ever think about moving to LA?’ And she was like, ‘Yeah, I could do that.’ And I was like, ‘Shut the f*** up, are you serious?’ And she was like, ‘Yeah, I could do that, why not?’ And I was like, ‘Oh, it’s on now.’”
As soon as Sartore made it clear that she’d be willing to move, Mescudi noted that he “was making plans to get the ring.”
“I was on it!’ Mescudi continued.
Kid Cudi previously raved about the connection he has with his 15-year-old daughter
Kid Cudi adores being a father and hopes to have more children in the future. The rapper spoke to CBS Mornings about what he’s like as a father to his daughter, Vada Wamwene, born in 2010.
“See me in parent mode or Uncle Scott mode, I’m on fire,” Mescudi said. When the interviewer asked the rapper whether he was a good father, he responded, “Oh my God, the best. The best. Even at the wedding, me and Vada had our dance together.” Mescudi noted that he and Vada were “in sync” while doing a “goofy dance.”
“And I was like, ‘Oh man, this is my daughter,’” he continued. “Like me and her are on the same frequency.”
