KERRY Katona has been forced to deny taking drugs after sharing a video that sparked concern among fans.
Recently Kerry, 44, revealed her surprising friendship with actor Hugh Grant when she joined stars including Elizabeth Hurley at his 64th birthday party.
The former Atomic Kitten singer has now told how she shared a clip on Instagram following the bash which led to accusations from her followers.
Writing in her column for new! magazine, Kerry said: “I went to Hugh Grant’s 64th birthday party last week and it was such a great night!
“Molly flew down from Ireland to come along and I brought Heidi too, they had a ball.
“We had a great chinwag, he’s so lovely. I went to bed around 10:30, I can never do a late night!”
She continued: “Although, I posted a video to my Instagram the next morning where I was cracking jokes and just having a chat, and so many people commented that I was drunk or on drugs!
“I couldn’t believe it, I don’t even drink alcohol and it was the morning, all I had was water! It is a little annoying that I have to keep defending myself.”
Kerry has always been open about her past drug addiction and has been clean for 14 years.
Earlier this year the mum-of-five underwent surgery on her nose to repair damage caused by years of cocaine use.
After the procedure Kerry took to Instagram to reflect on her past and told fans: “Even though it’s been almost 15 years since those awful dark days and even though that chapter of my life is well and truly closed it’s hard not to hang on to those negative unnecessary thoughts of shame, guilt, embarrassment, also desperation, loneliness, heartbreak.”
It’s the second time in recent months Kerry has been forced to deny she’s taking drugs again.
In August she hit back at comments, insisting medication from her nose operation causes slurred speech.
She said: “Last week, I faced accusations of ‘slurring’ my words during a TikTok Live, with some suggesting I was drunk or on drugs.
“The truth is, I’m still on the mend from nose surgery recovery can take up to a year so my speech isn’t perfect.
“It’s a pain when folks jump to the worst conclusions; I hardly drink and I’ve been clean for ages.
“But ultimately, I can’t change my speech or if it comes across as slurred it’s not on purpose.”
Kerry Katona’s cosmetic surgery timeline
Here we look at the star’s changing face – from fresh-faced pop singer to the latest £3,000 tweakment.
Kerry first went under the knife in 2004 for a boob job, and again in 2008 for another breast enhancement and liposuction.
In 2010 she also revealed she had tried to turn back time with some facial tweaks.
Kerry was bitten by the vampire facial bug in 2013 and feared she would die after a shocking reaction to the procedure, popularised by Kim Kardashian.
In 2019, Kerry sparked outrage by endorsing a ‘Katona Package’ at a London clinic offering “2ml face filler and one area fat dissolving” for £699.
When the mum-of-five approached her 40th, she celebrated with fillers and fat-dissolving injections in her chin to “enhance my natural beauty”.
Two years later Kerry joked she’d got a “brand new face” after a procedure called CoolSculpting, which freezes fat cells under the skin and destroys them. She had some fat removed from her chin and Botox injections.
In 2023, the TV star revealed a tighter jawline after treating herself to a “non-invasive facelift”.
In early 2024, Kerry had a much more invasive eye lift and brow lift in January, at a cost of over £3,000.
