“America is voting with their remotes and it’s clear Kelly has a golden future,” an insider says.

“America is voting with their remotes and it’s clear Kelly has a golden future, people are crazy about her,” an insider told Life & Style. “She’s earning more than a million a month from the show right now but it stands to reason that she’ll be able to get a substantial raise when she renegotiates her contract next.”

The Kelly Clarkson Show premiered in September 2019 and is nearing its 1000th episode. The show’s future is secure, at least for now, as the program’s already been greenlit for season 7, which will see it through 2026. Clarkson is known for singing covers of popular songs on her show and sitting down with celebrity guests in front of a live studio audience.

Money isn’t her ‘main motivation’ for hosting ‘The Kelly Clarkson Show’

While Clarkson has built a hefty fortune, estimated to be nearly $50 million, her talkshow isn’t, first and foremost, about making money. “Money’s not her main motivation for doing the show,” the source said. Sure, she makes six figures hosting the show. But the 42-year-old also “genuinely loves it and gets so much satisfaction interviewing the people she respects and engaging the audience.”

All in all, “it’s a dream come true” for Clarkson, who got her start on American Idol. The singer-songwriter knows she’s “making the network a huge amount of money, so it’s only fair that she gets a good chunk of it.”

Friends of Clarkson want her to give the upcoming contract renegotiations everything she’s got. “She’s a very sweet and humble person with more money than she ever imagined earning in her life,” the insider said. “But her friends are still urging her to play hard ball when it comes to negotiating her next salary. They’re telling her she’d be crazy not to ask for a bigger piece of the pie now that she’s proven her worth.”

Currently, Clarkson’s talk show is second in ratings behind Live With Kelly and Mark. During the show’s 2024-25 season, it averaged 1.2 million viewers per day (via The Hollywood Reporter).

The “Since U Been Gone” singer previously renegotiated her talk show contract in 2021 amid her divorce from her ex-husband Brian Blackstock, per Us Weekly. At the time, Clarkson pushed for a raise too, with an insider saying that she wanted “a substantial increase.”
