Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom reportedly wanted to make their relationship work
Perry and Orlando have reportedly been dealing with relationship problems for years.
“Katy and Orlando have been suffering through the same problems that have plagued them for years,” a source told People. “[They had] too much going on in their lives, which makes it hard to find time for each other and iron out disagreements. When they don’t communicate properly, their relationship dips to a low level.”
Another source said they still love each other, but it wasn’t enough to keep them together.
“Sometimes love isn’t enough to keep two people with different styles and outlooks on how things are done [together],” a source said. “It can overshadow the love.”
Still, they reportedly wanted to make things work.
“Katy confided in friends at the start of the year that their relationship was as good as done,” another insider said, per Yahoo!. “They decided to hold off on announcing anything in case things improved between them, because they are desperate to stay together for the sake of their daughter.”

As they separate, Perry and Bloom are reportedly most focused on their daughter, Daisy.
“They are there for Daisy and have been,” a source told People. “Daisy is their angel, and they want to protect her from anything adverse.”
While their relationship has been rocky, they want to remain friends for the sake of their daughter.
“They want to keep a friendly relationship so each can be around her separately or together,” the source added.
Daisy is currently traveling with Perry on her tour, and they are spending time “sightseeing and having fun.”
“She never saw herself being a single mom,” the insider said. “She’s felt a lot of pressure about her tour and now this. It’s been a lot for her. She’s still doing great though.”
She recently thanked fans for supporting her
Despite the pain of the breakup, Perry continues to tour. During a show in Adelaide, Australia, she held up her hands in a heart to the crowd and began to tear up.
“Thank you for always being there for me, Australia,” she said, resting one hand on her chest. “It means the world.”
She took another moment to soak up the crowd’s reaction before beginning to play “Firework.”
