Kate Middleton’s ‘Priority’ In Preparing to Be Queen Is to Remain a ‘Relatable and Relevant’ Royal, Expert Says

Kate Middleton married Prince William in 2011 knowing she would someday take the throne. She wants to remain ‘relatable and relevant’ as queen, which is what she’s working on.

When Prince William married Kate Middleton, she had already won over the public. But through the years, the Princess of Wales has proven to be a class act, and she’s become one of the most talked-about royals in the world.

As she continues to work toward becoming queen, Kate has plenty of priorities on her mind: her family and her health are two big ones. But she also wants to be a certain type of queen. Not one who sits on a throne, but rather one who is “relatable and relevant” to the general public.

Kate Middleton is working on building a specific type of reputation when she is queen

Over the years, it hasn’t been hard for Kate to be viewed positively in the spotlight. She always presents herself in a regal-but-approachable way, and it’s caused fans to love her. Kate has continued to be a hard-working woman while also being a present mom, and her relatability has only grown as time has gone on. Last year, Kate went through cancer treatment, and as difficult as it was, it also humanized her a bit.

Royal photographer Helena Chard told Fox News Digital that Kate’s expectations as queen are “mounting” but that she knows what she wants. “Her priority and thoughts are keeping her family well and safe, as well as forging ahead as the relatable and relevant future queen,” Chard said.

Chard continued, “Princess Catherine knew exactly what her role would be when marrying into the royal family. She has all the fitting attributes, seamlessly transitioning into her role over many years … She receives support from her family and learned from the very best, the late Queen Elizabeth II.

Kate Middleton is redefining what it means to be queen

Kate wants to always have a sense of relatability. She doesn’t want to be the generalization of a queen: someone who looks down upon others from their throne. That isn’t who Queen Elizabeth II was, and Kate clearly is following in her footsteps.

William and Kate are even more modern and approachable than previous monarchs. The two are focused on parenting their children and bringing light to various charities and organizations in the United Kingdom and beyond, and while they are working toward taking the throne, they don’t seem to be in any rush, as their kids are still young; their family is to remain the biggest focus until the kids are grown.
