Jason Tartick and Kaitlyn Bristowe clearly didn’t have an amicable split. She used her podcast to accuse him of purposefully stealing her beloved baby name, Teddy, for his dog.
Bachelor Nation star Kaitlyn Bristowe isn’t playing around regarding her future children’s names. Bristowe has done the work and the research and picked out at least one name she thinks would be a perfect fit for her future child. There is just one problem with the name now. Her ex, Jason Tartick, has given the name to his rescue dog. Bristowe is livid.
Kaitlyn Bristowe accuses Jason Tartick of stealing her baby name
Kaitlyn Bristowe is one of the more controversial members of Bachelor Nation. Her complicated relationship history and reaction to public scrutiny have earned her more than a few enemies. Despite that, Bristowe has continued to speak her truth and isn’t above dishing out her own criticisms.
In an April 2025 episode of her podcast, Off The Vine with Kaitlyn Bristowe, the reality TV personality verbally attacked her ex for his choice of dog names. Bristowe called Tartick “mean and pathetic” for “stealing” the baby name she envisioned giving her child for his dog. Bristowe insisted she had discussed the name with Tartick repeatedly, so it was no coincidence. She suggested Tartick was being petty by bestowing the name on his dog.
Tartick, whom Bristowe dated from 2019 until 2023, adopted the pooch in March. Bristowe and Tartick previously “shared custody” of two dogs they adopted together. They ended their co-ownership arrangement the same month.
Not everyone thinks Bristowe has a right to be upset
Bristowe is deeply bothered by Tartick using the name Teddy on his dog, but followers aren’t convinced she has a right to be as angry as she is. Following the release of the podcast episode featuring chatter about Tartick’s dog, Bristowe received a ton of backlash. Tartick’s fans quickly came to his defense, questioning whether he knew she dreamt of naming her child Teddy. Other fans insisted he had every right to pick whatever name he wanted for his dog, regardless of her connection to the name.
The backlash was so intense that Bristowe was compelled, once again, to speak out. She took to Instagram to insist that she understands that she’s made serious mistakes in relationships. She claims she’s been working on herself and is very proud of her personal growth. Still, she didn’t back down on her sentiments regarding Tartick’s dog’s name, insisting she was just sticking up for herself.
