Just as Jonathan Majors steps back into the spotlight, audio has leaked of the former Marvel star admitting to assault. Is it a targeted attack?
Jonathan Majors is in quite a predicament as he makes the rounds promoting the drama film Magazine Dreams. Just as the maligned actor is publicly rehabbing his acting career, audio has leaked of Majors allegedly admitting to assaulting then-girlfriend Grace Jabbari. Majors visited The Breakfast Club radio show to discuss the challenges and blessings of the last year, revealing what he thought of the leaked audio.

In December 2023, a Manhattan jury convicted Majors of misdemeanor assault and harassment. The conviction occurred nine months after Majors and Jabbari had a public disagreement that resulted in Majors striking her in the head with an open hand, twisting her arm behind her back, and breaking her middle finger by squeezing it. Majors was sentenced to undergo a counseling program for a year. In November 2024, Jabbari dropped her assault and defamation lawsuit after he agreed to settle out of court.

As Majors’ trial unfolded throughout 2024, Marvel dropped him from all plans to portray Kang the Conqueror, whom he’d played in 2023’s Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania starring Paul Rudd. Magazine Dreams had generated significant Oscar buzz at the Sundance Film Festival, but its wider release was shelved. Now that the drama is officially premiering in theaters, Majors is ready to address everything.

The Breakfast Club cohost Charlamagne tha God asked Majors, “Do you have an idea of who is creating this targeted attack? Because let’s be clear, I think it’s a targeted attack.” Charlamagne continued, “It’s like every time you’re about to do something, right? The Hollywood Reporter article comes out, starts hearing good news about Magazine Dreams, and all of a sudden this audio leaks.”
The radio host was referencing a recent Hollywood Reporter interview that was sympathetic to Majors’ side of the story. He also referenced Rolling Stone’s publication of leaked audio of Majors. In it, the now-husband to Meagan Good can be heard acknowledging that he shoved Jabbari against a car as well as squeezed her neck with his hands. “I’m ashamed I’ve ever — I’ve never [been] aggressive with a woman before,” he told Jabbari, among other things.

Majors gave a diplomatic answer about the leaked audio. “Let the streets talk, you know?” he stated. “Let the streets talk.” Charlamagne pushed back, “You could be getting granted a lot more grace. I even think about Marvel … They were so quick to part ways with you.” The radio host compared Majors’ situation to past scandals involving Jeremy Renner and Robert Downey Jr., who have notably remained on Marvel’s payroll despite past problematic behavior.

“You play the hand you’re dealt,” Majors acknowledged. “And it’s not over ’til it’s over … There’s one thing I know: I love my wife, I love my daughter, I love my family, I love this art form, and I trust in God.” The Devotion actor said he was “on fire inside” regarding his career, adding that he couldn’t wait to appear in another film and promote it. “I have no doubt in my mind that it’s going to happen,” he said. “I don’t know when, but we have things in the works.”

“Were those rumors about Marvel bringing Kang back true?” Charlamagne asked. Majors admitted, “Man, here’s the thing about Marvel, right? You don’t know until you know.” Throughout the last week, the 35-year-old has told several media outlets that he’d love to reprise his role if Marvel offered him the chance. “As long as the streets are talking, as long as the fans are talking, there’s hope,” he concluded.
