TRIBUTES have poured in for a “legendary” former DJ who has died following a “long illness”.
Johnny Kennedy was best known for his work on Liverpool-based Radio City.

He also DJ’d on Dune FM, Wirral Radio, and River Radio.
In a statement, Dune Radio said: “Very sad news to hear that radio legend Johnny Kennedy has sadly passed away.
“Our thoughts are with Johnny’s friends and family at this very sad time. RIP JK JD.”
He was described as a “true gentleman” by pals who expressed “how supportive” he was for up and coming acts.
Another pal added: “Just hearing the news that Johnny Kennedy has very sadly passed on after a long illness.
“Worked with JK at Dune FM Southport, such a gentleman who was really complimentary about my presenting style, god bless you JK.”
A third said: “Rest in peace JK. Love you.”
