Jinger Vuolo recently recalled dining out with her supersized family as a kid. What she didn’t mention is the fact that her father now owns the land that housed that eatery.
Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar own a lot of property in and around Springdale, Arkansas. Even before TLC came calling, the Duggar family leaders were interested in purchasing land, homes, and commercial property. It’s how they claim they kept their ever-expanding family fed, although donations also helped.
They didn’t give up on real estate after the reality TV stardom. Their TLC paychecks allowed them to garner large swaths of land in their home state, which has paid off several times. The Duggars recently closed a land deal with Walmart that netted them millions. After a bit of digging, we learned they also own a commercial property that was once home to a Mexican eatery Jinger Vuolo just mentioned on her podcast.
Jinger Vuolo shared what restaurants they were allowed to eat at as children
Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar are millionaires a few times over now. Their younger kids will never know the monetary struggle their older siblings were privy to years ago. The older kids are doing well enough financially now, too. That hasn’t erased their memories, though. Recently, Jinger Vuolo opened up about dining out as kids.
During a recent episode of The Jinger and Jeremy Podcast, Jinger recalled eating out at a Taco Tico establishment near her family’s home in Springdale, Arkansas. She remembered being allowed to eat as much as she wanted because the tacos were on special during the weekend, allowing the family to gobble up tacos for 10 cents each.
Jinger said that, even with the special, the Duggar kids knew better than to order drinks while dining out. The eatery is no longer part of Springdale’s landscape but lives on in Jinger’s memory. In a way, it lives on in Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar’s real estate portfolio, too.
Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar own the building that housed the taco spot
Jinger Vuolo remembered a lot about her trips to Taco Tico, but she never gave the eatery’s address. Still, only one was in Springdale, Arkansas, during the timeframe Jinger hinted at. The only Taco Tico close to the Duggar family compound was located in a standalone building in one of the city’s retail stretches, just a few miles from the family’s Tontitown, Arkansas, compound. Taco Tico moved out of the location years ago and the property changed hands. In an interesting twist, Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar now own the property that once housed the taco chain.

According to property records, Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar purchased a commercial building on West Sunset Avenue in 2010, just a few years after TLC first featured the famous family on TLC. The property, which now houses a Cronuts Donuts, was initially owned by Taco Tico. The taco purveyor sold the property in 1999 to an investment group, which sold it to the Duggars a decade later.
It is unclear who owns and operates the donut shop currently housed in the building. The donut shop has been operating since at least late 2023. A different donut shop operated out of the location before Cronuts Donuts took over.
