Jessica Simpson celebrated her 43rd birthday on Monday by posting a glowing (and mostly glam-free) selfie.
“43 makeup free (kinda. Ha. I did curl my lashes),” the “Dukes of Hazzard” actress captioned the stunning pic on Instagram.
Some loved seeing Simpson in a more natural state.
“A good curled lash can go a long way,” one wrote, while another added, “I need your skincare routine.”
But others weren’t buying her barefaced claim.
“Idk why people even say no makeup on photos there clearly is makeup. Why choose that caption if it’s not true,” one person wrote, in part.

“How much stuff jammed into your face ha,” another added, referring to cosmetic procedures Simpson may or may not have had.
While it’s unclear how the pop star will be celebrating her birthday this year, hopefully husband Eric Johnson has a special present waiting in the wings; after all, when their daughter Maxwell turned 11 in May, Simpson gifted her a $3,000 Louis Vuitton bag.
Perhaps the blond bombshell could use a new piece of jewelry or two; in addition to modeling a pair of backless bedazzled jeans and latex lingerie for her recent Bustle cover shoot, Simpson also wore her own jewelry, revealing it “might be the last time” she does so.

Simpson said cash has been tight since she bought back her Jessica Simpson Collection brand for $54 million in 2021 — to the point that her mother and business partner, Tina, has had to loan her money.
Perhaps she’ll unwrap something sparkly for her birthday.
