Jesse Plemons reveals how much weight he lost — without Ozempic — after dramatic slim-down

Jesse Plemons shed a significant amount of weight on a fitness journey that did not include Ozempic.

“I’m not lugging 50 more pounds around,” the actor, 36, told “Entertainment Tonight” Thursday at the premiere of his new film, “Kinds of Kindness.”

Plemons — who is married to Kirsten Dunst and shares sons Ennis, 6, and James, 3, with the “Bring It On” star — said he has “much more energy” now because of his fitter physique.

“Like I’ve said, I’ve got young kids, so I got to keep up with them,” the “Civil War” star added.

Plemons shared that he got in shape “over the course of a year and a half or so,” which is a much more gradual process than those who opt to take Ozempic.

Last week, the “Killers of the Flower Moon” actor joked about embracing his new fitness goals at the same time that the Type 2 diabetes drug became a popular source for weight loss in Hollywood.

“It’s really unfortunate that I decided to get healthy when everyone decided to take Ozempic,” he told the Los Angeles Times on June 13. “It doesn’t matter. Everyone’s going to think I took Ozempic anyways.”

Plemons also revealed at the time that he was actually able to lose weight by trying intermittent fasting, which is when a person restricts their eating to a specific time period throughout the day.

“I just gave it a shot and [was] surprised at how quickly it was effective,” the “Friday Night Lives” alum said.

“[I] felt like I was in the rhythm, I was feeling better, and something shifted in my head. I just sort of got a handle on it.”

Although many stars — including Oprah Winfrey and Kelly Clarkson — have admitted using some sort of medication to lose weight, Plemons is not the only celeb to have insisted they did it the old-fashioned way.

Ashley Benson, who recently lost a lot of weight after giving birth to her first child, addressed speculation about her methods, writing via Instagram, “I know a lot of people take Ozempic and that’s totally fine.

“To each their own,” she continued. “But don’t discredit people who also work very hard to get their body back like I’ve done with mine.”
