Jennifer Lopez reflects on her ‘challenging relationships’ amid Ben Affleck divorce

Jennifer Lopez related to her “Unstoppable” character’s “challenging relationships” in a new interview conducted in the midst of her divorce from Ben Affleck.

“We were kindred spirits,” the “On the Floor” singer told Variety Wednesday of Judy Robles, whose son Anthony Robles (played by Jharrel Jerome) became a successful wrestler despite being born with only one leg.

“We both grew up Latina in this country. We both had children and have hopes and dreams for them. We both had challenging relationships, which left us holding our families together.”

Lopez, 55, went on to say she and Judy also had to learn how to be “strong” throughout their life.

“From the minute women are born, we’re always having to prove ourselves, to show we’re good enough,” she explained. “That creates a type of strength. And then a lot of us give birth — and there’s nothing that makes you stronger than doing that.”

While J.Lo did not go into detail about her “challenging relationships,” she is currently going through her fourth divorce.

The “Selena” star and Affleck, 52, first sparked breakup rumors in May 2024, three months before she went to court to officially pull the plug on their two-year marriage.

Since then, the former couple has been spotted together a handful of times as they amicably navigate their new normal.

Page Six reported in December that the soon-to-be exes “have every intention of continuing to be in each other’s lives despite not being romantically involved.”

“Ben and Jennifer are still connected, and they do communicate when it involves their kids,” a source told us of their blended family.

Page Six later broke the news that Lopez and the “Argo” star even exchanged Christmas presents despite not spending the holiday together.

“The gifts were mostly for each other’s kids, but they did exchange a few small things for each other as well,” an insider told us.

The source continued, “It was nothing over the top, but more so a gesture to celebrate the holidays.”

Lopez spent Christmas with her sister and two children in Aspen, Colo., while Affleck celebrated with his ex-wife, Jennifer Garner, and their three kids.

Prior to her relationship with the actor, the Grammy nominee was engaged to Alex Rodriguez and married to Ojani Noa, Cris Judd and Marc Anthony, the latter of whom is the father of her 16-year-old twins, Max and Emme.
