A multitude of A-list celebrities and other high-profile people traveled to Venice for billionaire Jeff Bezos’ wedding to Lauren Sánchez. Some of those stars among the 200 guests who descended on the Italian city include Kim Kardashian, Kris Jenner, Corey Gamble, Kylie Jenner, Kendall Jenner, Khloe Kardashian, Orlando Bloom, Bill Gates, Tom Brady, Leonardo Di Caprio and Vittoria Ceretti, Usher and Jenn Goicoechea, Eva Longoria, Oprah Winfrey, Sydney Sweeney, and Ellie Goulding to name a few.
Fans have been checking out some of the fashions worn by the rich and famous who attended the multi-day celebration and couldn’t help but notice that Sánchez was sporting another gigantic ring in addition to her 20-carat engagement ring during the wedding welcome party.
The diamond experts at the jewelry retailer Steven Stone took a closer look at her new sparkler to estimate how much it costs.
Zack Stone told Showbiz Cheat Sheet: “Lauren Sánchez stole the spotlight at her wedding welcome party, dazzling in not one but two spectacular rings — most notably, her show-stopping engagement ring from Jeff Bezos. The piece features what appears to be a magnificent 20-carat cushion-cut diamond set in a sleek platinum band.
“Once considered old-fashioned during the mid-20th century, cushion-cut diamonds have made a striking resurgence in recent years, becoming a favorite choice for engagement rings. High-profile figures such as Kim Kardashian, Mariah Carey, and Meghan Markle have all worn the timeless cut, placing Lauren in truly illustrious company.”
Stone continued: “At the time of the couple’s engagement, the diamond was initially believed to be a D color — the most rare and valuable grade on the color scale. However, Lauren later revealed in an interview with Vogue that the stone is, in fact, a pink diamond. Among the rarest and most coveted colored diamonds in the world, natural pink diamonds are exceptionally scarce.
“Historically, over 90% of the global supply came from Australia’s now-closed Argyle Mine, which ceased operations in 2020. Since its closure, the value of these already prized gems has skyrocketed, making Lauren’s ring not only breathtaking but also extraordinarily rare.”
Commenting on the new rock Sánchez donned on her other hand, Stone said: “Lauren’s second ring is no less extraordinary. It features an elongated oval-cut diamond, believed to be a creation by the legendary jeweler JAR. Given that Jeff Bezos is the world’s third-richest man, it comes as little surprise that the 22.76-carat diamond is of the highest caliber.”
The fine jewelry expert added: “Graded D color — the most rare and valuable on the diamond color scale – it appears completely colourless both to the naked eye and under magnification. The stone also boasts a VVS1 clarity grade, placing it among the most pristine quality diamonds available.
“Notably slim and shallow in proportion, the diamond has an elegant, elongated presence that enhances its brilliance. Based on its characteristics and rarity, I’d estimate the show-stopping piece to be worth around $4 million — making it even more valuable than her already spectacular engagement ring, which we previously estimated at $3.5 million.”
