Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez held a lavish engagement party with an exclusive group of friends aboard the billionaire’s mega-yacht Wednesday, Page Six has learned.
A source exclusively tells us that the nautical fête, which took place in Positano, Italy, was “intimate” with only a “small crowd” in attendance.
VIP guests included Bill Gates, who appeared in photos from the party looking jovial, along with his girlfriend, Paula Hurd.
The pair was photographed smiling and having a nice chat.
Rupert Murdoch’s ex-wife, American entrepreneur Wendi Murdoch, also celebrated Bezos and Sánchez’s impending nuptials, and film and television producer Fabiola Beracasa Beckman was also spotted at the event.
An unidentified guest, who was not the bride, appeared to commit a faux pas by wearing white to the gathering.
It is unclear what Sánchez chose to wear as she and Bezos seemed to have strategically escaped the paparazzi’s lens.
Last week, however, the couple put on quite a show aboard the Amazon CEO’s $500 million boat, “Koru,” while sailing in Capri, Italy.

Bezos, 59, was snapped on July 27 climbing on top of his fiancée, 53, on an outdoor couch and sharing a passionate kiss.
The lovebirds have been noticeably affectionate with one another in a celebratory mood ever since the business mogul popped the question.

Page Six exclusively reported in May that Bezos had proposed to Sánchez with a 20-carat ring after dating the former broadcaster for five years.
The “private” proposal reportedly took place with just the two of them present somewhere in Spain before they headed out to the South of France for the Cannes Film Festival.
Shortly after, Sánchez was seen flaunting her new bling — estimated to cost $2.5 billion — during a dinner date with her beau at La Petite Maison in Cannes, France.
Since then, the former entertainment reporter has proudly showcased her sparkler while on other trips with Bezos.
This is the second time Sánchez will walk down the aisle. She was previously married to Hollywood talent mogul Patrick Whitesell, with whom she shares a son and daughter. She also shares another son with NFL player Tony Gonzalez.
Bezos, for his part, was previously married to MacKenzie Scott for 26 years and they share four kids.
