While Ivanka Trump was being grilled on the stand in her father’s $250 million civil fraud trial in New York City on Wednesday — her husband, Jared Kushner, was absent.
We hear the NYC real estate heir stayed behind in the couple’s hometown of Miami, Fla., though it’s unclear why he didn’t come out to support her in court.
The couple has three children Arabella, 12, Joseph, 9 and Theodore, 7.
While Kushner was absent, his name was brought up during Ivanka’s testimony when she took the stand in a pricey designer outfit to testify as a witness in the case.
Emails between the couple were brought up showing Kushner — who did not work for the Trump Organization — giving his wife advice on terms of a real estate deal in 2013 regarding redeveloping the Washington, DC, Old Post Office building into a Trump hotel property.
“My husband is also in real estate, and we have respect for each other,” she said from the witness stand in Manhattan Supreme Court when asked about the emails by lawyers with the New York attorney general’s office.
Ivanka and Kushner wed in 2009. She worked for the Trump Organization before leaving in 2017 to work in her father’s White House administration.
“You can get better pricing,” Kushner, 42, wrote in one email.

In another email, the former First Daughter asked a Trump real estate employee to “send Jared the latest.”
Earlier this week, a source told Page Six that Donald Trump was “pissed” his eldest daughter had to tesify in the civil case.
A source familiar with the Trump family told Page Six, “What you aren’t hearing in court is how upset and agitated [Donald Trump] is that his children have been dragged into court. He feels it’s another move to upset him. He’s pissed.” His sons, Eric and Don Jr., also testified in the case against him.
The source added, “This is causing problems with Ivanka who has worked hard to stay under the radar for last two-ish years, and is bracing herself for the press and paparazzi who will pounce on her at court.”
But another source said Ivanka is a fighter, telling us, “She’s tough … this isn’t her first rodeo with this stuff. She’s lived a more private life, and this is more of an annoying thing. She’ll do what she needs to do and go back to Miami.”
Ivanka and Kushner have been living a quiet life in Florida with their family since leaving politics.
She has slowly been making her way back on to the social scene, attending Kim Kardashian’s 43rd birthday party in LA last month and rubbing shoulders with guests including Jeff Bezos’ fiancée Lauren Sánchez.
The Donald is accused of exaggerating his financial worth to enrich himself in his business dealings, but he has adamantly denied all the allegations and exploded in court during his own testimony in the case.
