HE is usually the politest man in music but it seems something – or someone – has been grinding James Blunt’s gears this week.
And after he had a pop at Adele for cancelling her Las Vegas gigs at the disastrous start of her Sin City foray, the singer has since taken aim at some of the greats of Britpop – namely Noel Gallagher and Damon Albarn.

Taking aim at Noel, former Army officer James said he was shocked to see Noel bad mouthing him after he said he’d sold his house in Ibiza because he didn’t want to live near him.
James said: “I do actually bump into Noel at various places and he only says these things behind your back.
“To your face he’s a coward.
“He said he couldn’t have me writing my s****y songs just down the road from him.”
Ever the funny man, James added: “It was really weird when he left, house prices just rocketed!”
Blur frontman Damon was up next, with The Girl That Never Was singer James saying he was forced out of a photograph backstage at Jools Holland’s BBC show back in the mid Noughties.

Talking about the incident, James said: “He’s a lovely chap I’m sure, but he didn’t want me.
“They get all the musicians to have the photo of the episode and everyone gets the photo and that photo is put up on the wall of the studio, the Jools Holland studio.
“And for some reason he didn’t want me in the photo.
“So I was kept in the dressing room while they took that photo.”
Speaking on the Where There’s A Will There’s A Wake podcast, out now, James added: “He left and they got me out for a second photo, but that photo’s not necessarily on the wall.
“It was the whole time of that Britpop thing, before my time, people were so competitive about each other.
“Music is music, you can enjoy all different types of music.”
