Jalen Brunson is a little busy at the moment, helping to lead the New York Knicks in the off-season, but last year, he had time to chat a bit about his car collection. Brunson has plenty of great cars to choose from when he’s ready to leave Madison Square Garden, but he doesn’t love them all the same. The famed point guard once called the Mercedes-Benz G-Class “the best thing on the planet.”

Jalen Brunson spends most of his time playing basketball, but when he’s not on the court, he likes driving around in his car collection. While he has a lot of nice cars, he called his G-Wagon the “best thing on the planet” during a podcast appearance. Brunson appeared on the Roommates Show last August and chatted about his favorite luxuries. He noted that his cars were some of his preferred luxuries, but seemed reluctant to share what he owned. Eventually, he opened up, finally admitting he owned a Mercedes-Benz G-Wagon, among other high-end options.
Brunson’s thoughts on the Mercedes-Benz G-class are high praise from a man who has already amassed a pretty impressive car collection, all before turning 30. According to Clutch Points, the Knicks star owns a car collection worth nearly $1 million. Brunson’s collection includes a Mercedes-Benz S-Class, a Lamborghini Urus, and a Ferrari GTC4 Lusso, in addition to the G-Class and Range Rover he mentioned in his podcast appearance.
Plenty of other celebrities own the Mercedes-Benz G-Wagon
Brunson’s love of the G-Wagon shouldn’t come as a massive surprise. While the point guard is pretty humble, he is aligned with other celebrities when it comes to his car preferences. Plenty of other celebrities also drive the coveted Mercedes SUV. Kim Kardashian, Kylie Jenner, and Drake have all been open about their love for the SUV. The model is also popular with other NBA stars. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and LeBron James have both been spotted in G-Wagons, and NFL star Russell Wilson also uses the G-Wagon as a family car.
But why do so many celebrities love the car? It has an interesting pedigree and a powerful engine, and the company remains dedicated to providing a luxury experience, even in its more utilitarian designs. The uniqueness of the vehicle and its prestige have attracted A-listers and likely will continue to do so.
