BRING Me The Horizon frontman Oli Sykes has revealed he hasn’t spoken to ex-bandmate Jordan Fish since his shock exit from the group.
The rockers, who recently surprised fans with the sudden release of new album POST HUMAN: NeX GEn, announced Fish’s departure from the band back in December.

It was a surprise move given the keyboard player and songwriter had played a pivotal part in the group’s ascendancy from underground metallers to chart-bothering rockers.
Now, Sykes has shed some light on he departure, admitting that the band had turned into the “Oli and Jordan show”.
He told Revolver magazine: “I’m not going to bulls**t and say, ‘Oh, it was amicable and we all ended on good terms and stuff.’ End of day, it’s like any breakup… but there’s no juicy story or anything. There’s no headline there.
“At the same time, there’ll be some wounds on both sides that are going to take a bit longer to heal before [getting back] on communicating terms again.”
Sykes became fixated on writing music after a stint in rehab for ketamine addiction prior to the release of 2013 album Sempiternal.
He and Fish would bury themselves in songwriting sessions and piece together tracks using Pro Tools software, often leaving band members and their real instruments in the cold.
“I didn’t realise how much we pushed the other guys out,” admitted Sykes.
Despite the post-split tension that exists between Sykes and Fish, the former is confident time will heal their relationship and acknowledges his former bandmate’s talents.
He said: “We all think Jordan’s amazing, and we’re stoked on the work he’s done since being in the band, and we’re excited to see what he does in the future.”
BMTH’s dystopian new record was originally slated for release last August but was subjected to a lengthy delay.
And it certainly seems to have paid off as the LP has been greeted with a raft of five-star reviews.
Among its running order are five Fish co-writes, as well as new songs like Kool-Aid, which was put together organically in the studio.
Sykes said last year: “There’s no, ‘That song could be played on the radio if we don’t scream.’
“It’s almost like we’re connecting to that time before Bring Me The Horizon had any prospects of being a big band. Back then, there was never anything but, ‘What do you want to make?’ So we’re trying to tap back into that.”
Against the odds, the once niche band have risen to the top of the music pile here in the UK.
They have been nominated for two Grammys and this year won a Brit for Best Rock/Alternative Act. They’ve also scooped seven Kerrang! gongs in a career that dates back 20 years.

There was no greater sign of a mainstream breakthrough than when they collaborated with Ed Sheeran for a souped-up version of his hit Bad Habits at the Brit Awards in 2022.
Adding rocky riffs and synths to the catchy pop tune, the heavier element clearly thrilled Ed who performed the collab with a big grin.
The band’s previous LP, Post Human: Survival, came out in 2020 and was the second in a four-part series.
Prior to that they released Music to Listen to…, Amo and That’s The Spirit, which signalled a change to a more commercial sound after four previous albums.
