Sharing several photos to social media, the dancer looked relaxed and happy as she inhaled the fresh country air and stunning scenery.
Writing on her social media Amy said:
“Had such a brilliant weekend with the gang! Including #charitydressup night which was so much fun seeing all the outfits we bought for each other, swimming in the sea
“But it was the company that made it all so special! Thank you @portwrinkleholidays for having us stay. Will certainly be back! #prstay #lucky #thosesunsets #portwrinkle #portwrinkleholidays #friends #makingmemories #livinglifetothefullest #forevergrateful”
Last year, a newly married Amy was getting ready to jet off on honeymoon when she found a lump in her breast.
Seeking medical advice upon her return, she later received the devastating news that she had stage 3 breast cancer.
Her diagnosis meant that she was unable to participate in the last series of Strictly Come Dancing, as she endured a period of chemotherapy.
Now that she’s cancer-free, Amy, who also suffers from Crohn’s disease, recently appeared on BBC Breakfast where she reflected on her health challenge.
She said: “I’m doing really well thank you, I can’t believe it’s a year since I found the lump, but I’m just so grateful in the year for the treatment I had, the NHS and all the charities and everyone that has helped me to still be here today.”
“I never thought for a million years at 32 that I’d be diagnosed with breast cancer, there I was living my life to the full on Strictly Come Dancing I just got married, cancer doesn’t discriminate.”
The Welsh-born star also told the BBC Breakfast team that she’s hopeful that the Beeb will invite her back to appear on the upcoming series of Strictly Come Dancing.
She said: that would be the dream, I’m working really hard and getting my body full back and rehab and physio. “I’ve got a brilliant team so fingers crossed I’ll be back on your screens dancing later this year.”
However Amy also feels the magnetic pull of motherhood, as she’s confessed to being keen to start a family with her husband Ben.
The couple have reportedly had five embryos frozen to give themselves the best chance of reproducing, now that Amy’s treatment is behind her.
Time will tell.
