Inside Lewis Capaldi’s childhood home where his hit songs were written – after it sold for £400k

BEHIND the walls of this humble home in Scotland, Lewis Capaldi jotted down the lyrics of some of his most popular tunes.

The family home that Lewis shared with his mum Carol went on the market for nearly £400,000.

In the estate agent photos, family snaps featuring Lewis can be seen plastered across the brightly-coloured walls.

Lewis, who despite being an international star has remained humble and openly said how he would rather live with his parents than splash his cash.

In his new Netflix documentary Lewis Capaldi How I’m Feeling Now, he says: “There’s nothing further from the Grammys than Whitburn – it’s the antithesis – ordinary is such a remarkable thing.

“Beauty in everyday life. I love being from Scotland. I’ve learned how much I do love where I’m from.”

When the house in West Lothian was listed in 2021, the estate agent listing described it as “an exceptional and individually built family home”.

It says that the property – which is listed as under offer – has been “significantly and professionally extended and improved by the current owners”.

A picture of his famous bedroom showed a microphone stand still perched in the corner.

The master bedroom had bright yellow walls and a white double bed with floral sheets.

On the walls hung a collection of family photographs and in the corner of the room was a huge white teddy bear.

Most of the walls in the living room look out onto the family’s garden, with Lewis’ outdoor recording studio visible.

The room is modest, with wooden flooring and a large well-loved leather sofa taking up most of the space.

The wooden cabin is crammed full of his awards and music equipment – the set up you’d usually expect from a swanky city set up.

The house has a modern kitchen with white surfaces and cupboards and marble counter tops.

The kitchen leads through to the dining room which has a huge wooden table that can seat eight people.

At the time, a source said: “This property is a good buy for an investor. Imagine owning the house where Lewis Capaldi penned some of his most iconic hits. It’s sure to be worth a fortune in years to come.”
