THE iconic 90s movie Notting Hill is set to get a sequel 24 years on.
Richard Curtis says he’s already written the script for a ten-minute special for charity.

Despite a second film not being in the works, fans will be excited to hear of plans for Hugh Grant and Julia Roberts to reunite.
Screenwriter Richard, 66, revealed plans to air the spin-off on Comic Relief.
Speaking on the podcast Have You Seen?, Richard said: “Recently I wrote… I was going to do it for Comic Relief… I wrote Notting Hill 2, which was going to be a 10-minute special set in the divorce lawyer’s office with Hugh and Julia splitting up, and then they both realised they loved each other again.”
Notting Hill was a huge hit when it was released in 1999 – quickly overtaking Four Weddings and a Funeral as the highest-grossing British film.

It starred Hugh Grant as shy book shop owner whose world collides with a famous American actress, played by Julia Roberts.
Richard said her character was based on a blend of Grace Kelly and Audrey Hepburn – and the storyline came from an idea about a mega famous person coming into an ordinary person’s life.

He has previously revealed Julia initially didn’t want to play the part after being given a “terrible pitch”.
In fact it was Nicole Kidman who fought for the role before Julia was eventually persuaded.
It was filmed in Richard’s neighbourhood of Notting Hill in West London.
He said the final cut had to be slashed by 90 minutes before it was released in cinemas.
Superfans can visit the site of the iconic film where Hugh’s character lived behind the blue door.
But in recent years it’s been left in a “shocking” condition and covered in graffiti after being targeted by vandals.
The house has dozens of angry comments on Google Reviews and a score of just 3.6 out of 5.
Visitor Jonathan Lau posted an image of the site covered in graffiti, saying it had “has seen some better days.”
He said: “Obviously the hooligans responsible aren’t fans of the movie.”
Another person commented: “It should be restored and bring back the conditions for a proper door…”
