Hugh Jackman lands bizarre new film role which sees him talk to sheep to solve a murder

IF you thought Emma Stone’s Poor Things was the weirdest movie of this year, Hugh Jackman’s latest film is going to rival it.

I can exclusively reveal The Greatest Showman actor is set to sign up for Three Bags Full: A Sheep Detective Story.

It will see Hugh take on the role of an Irish shepherd who gets murdered  . . . only for his flock of sheep to take on human attributes to turn sleuth to try to find out who killed him.

And the detective ewedunnit, forgive me, is none other than a sheep called Miss Marple.

Insiders told me Emma Thompson, is also in talks to take a major part in the movie, a big-screen version of the novel Three Bags Full, by German Leonie Swann.

A source said: “Three Bags Full is being made into a film and Hugh is about to sign on to play the leading role.

“The story follows the murder of George the shepherd, whose flock try to solve who killed him before trying to tell his widow Kate.

“Hugh was approached about taking on the role of George and Emma is signing on to play his wife.

“It sounds baa-rmy but it’s a brilliant book and will translate so well on to the big screen.”

If ewe say so . . .

We’ll next see Hugh in the cinema as his Marvel character Wolverine in the latest film in the franchise.

Deadpool & Wolverine, which also sees Hugh’s mickey-taking good mate Ryan Reynolds reprising his role as Wade Wilson, is out on July 25.

HOLLYWOOD star Hugh Jackman was spotted walking by a canal on a holiday in the UK — thanks to a doorbell cam

Ryan confirmed they had finally wrapped filming in January and posted a picture of himself in Deadpool’s suit on X.

He wrote next to it: “The suit hides the blood. Also sweat . . . But today, with Deadpool wrapping, it’s mostly tears.

“A giant and forever thanks to the cast and crew of our film who battled wind, rain, strikes and Hugh Jackman . . . all under the stalwart leadership of Shawn Levy.”

Given how well the previous films did, I’m sure fans will be flocking to watch this one if not a load of crime-busting ewes in the farmyard.
