Tom, 61, who was seen filming at Middleton Mine in a jeep last week, took time out of his schedule to take pictures with the chef and manager.

A spokesperson for the restaurant said: “We were honoured to have shared our food and hospitality with Tom Cruise and his cast and crew last week.

“A truly humbling experience to have had such a kind and genuine group of guests join us.

“Mr Cruise was kind enough to offer a photo with us all and has given us permission to share.

“Thank you for choosing Lovage – we would be thrilled to welcome you all back again.” The menu at Lovage includes a £40 beef fillet and a £32 cod dish.

Tom has been filming in the Peak District for the past few weeks and has been photographed on set as his character Ethan Hunt.

His last Mission: Impossible installment, which was one of the costliest films of all time, made less of an impact at the box office than he would have hoped.

Insiders who worked on the seventh film in the franchise told The Sun Tom and his crew were left more than a little peeved due to the phenomenal success of Margot Robbie’s Barbie — which raked in almost £1.5billion.

A source said: “Tom’s Mission: Impossible seven was hard-earned and overcame so many hurdles to make it into the cinema.

“But there is a feeling among the crew that they fought hell and high water to get it out only for Barbie to come along and totally overshadow it.

“It’s a really hard time in Hollywood right now so no one is knocking Barbie’s wins, it’s just left a bit of a sour taste in some mouths.”

It still made an impressive £441million at the box office, though.

But given it cost a reported £200million to make, with almost another £1million tacked on for promoting it, the film was most certainly outdone by Barbie.

The movie icon is newly-single too, having ended his relationship with Russian socialite Elsina Khayrova just weeks ago.

He started dating Elsina, who is 25-years his junior, at the end of last year.

Friends revealed Tom had cooled off his romance with the 36-year-old but wanted to remain friends because they live in the same apartment block in London.

Elsina is the daughter of a prominent Russian MP and ex-wife of a diamond-trading oligarch.

A source said: “To end things on a bad note would’ve been awkward if they bumped into each other in the lift.

“There are no hard feelings between them and, for Tom, their relationship simply ran its course.”

Tom’s film Mission: Impossible — Dead Reckoning Part One is next month up for sound and visual effects Oscars.
