Huge DJ legend accidentally reveals he’s playing surprise set at Glastonbury in social media slip up

A global superstar DJ has let slip that he’ll be playing this year’s Glastonbury Festival- following an online interaction with a fan.

The DJ in question, who also owns a motorsport brand, was answering questions on the brand’s Instagram page, when he let the cat out of the bag.

Speaking to DJ Carl Cox, via his instagram page for Carl Cox Motorsport, one person asked: “We getting a mobile disco set at Glasto, or hybrid?”

Carl, 62, then replied: “Mobile disco set”, with a raised hand emoji.

This prompts another fan to express their approval, saying: “Excellent, love the mobile disco sets and have missed them the last couple of years. I’m sure he might pop up more than once.”

In 2023, and with his Glastonbury slot not yet announced, Carl was asked on Facebook: “Will we be seeing you at Glastonbury, Carl?”

To which he replied: “Yes, I will be playing on Friday night and the Glade stage.”

And the year prior, Carl not only said he would be playing ahead of any official confirmation, but also revealed the entire 2022 Arcadia line-up by sharing a poster online.

With The 1975, Olivia Rodrigo and Neil Young recently confirmed as Pyramid Stage headliners, they will be joined by an array of music royalty, both new and old, on Worthy Farm between June 25 and 29.

Sir Rod Stewart will play the much-coveted legends slot, while up-and-comers like Lola Young will ensure the younger generation of music fans are well catered for.

Little Mix star Jade Thirlwall will be playing the festival for the first time, having just won best Best Pop Act at the Brits.

Fans slam Glastonbury as ‘worst one ever’ as full lineup announced

However, this year’s line-up has not been met with universal approval, with some slamming the choice of artists.

One person said on X: “That’s gotta be the worst #Glastonbury like up I’ve ever seen.”

While another asked: “Oasis? Madonna? Robbie? Even Coldplay or the Arctic Monkeys again? I’d be wanting my money back. #Glastonbury let-down.”

And a third said: “This has to be one of the worst lineups ever.”
