He told Emma and Alex: “We’ve got to do a bit of a warmup, you know, to get into the swing of it.
“So we’ve decided we’re going to do a little warm up show in Shepherd’s Bush Empire on I think is June the 5th.
“Any of the fans out there can go to simplyred.com and get all the information there.”
The band’s name refers to Mick’s nickname Red (owing to his ginger hair) as well as his support the football club Manchester United.
The initial line up included Mick on lead vocals, David Fryman on guitar, Tony Bowers on bass, Fritz McIntyre on keyboards, Tim Kellett on brass and Chris Joyce on drums.
The band had several hit singles including If You Don’t Know Me By Now, Fairground, It’s Only Love, Stars and Angel.
The One Show airs weeknights from 7pm on BBC One and iPlayer.
