Megan Thee Stallion and Klay Thompson got people talking when eagle-eyed fans noticed the NBA star in the background of her poolside Instagram post promoting the “Mamushi” rapper‘s Hot Girl Summer swimwear line.
Many of her followers took to the comments section inquiring about the Dallas Mavericks shooting guard and writing things like, “Look out Klay” and “My guy Klay Thompson still shooting and not missing.”
So are these two an item? Well it sure looks that way after what the athlete posted to his Instagram on July 13. Here’s more about the pair including how much older Klay is than Megan.
Thompson’s age
Thompson was born in Los Angeles to parents Julie and Mychal Thompson on Feb. 8, 1990. His father was also a basketball player and the first overall pick of the 1978 NBA Draft. But he may not know a ton about his son’s dating life and if he does, he’s not letting on that he knows.
During an episode of the Mason & Ireland podcast, John Ireland mentioned Klay’s potential new partner to Mychal, saying, “You might be able to meet Megan Thee Stallion.” The former Lakers center then asked, “Who’s that?”
When John repeated her name, Mychal said, “I’ve never heard of her.” At that point, co-host Steve Mason jumped in to fill in the blanks about the rumors she and Klay are dating, to which Mychal responded: “Man, it’s his life, what can I do.”
Later in the segment, when the hosts showed Klay’s dad a picture of Megan, he reacted with a simple comment, “She seems nice.” Mychal then attempted to shake off the rumors, claiming, “This could all just be overblown. You know the internet.”
But now, Klay has seemingly confirmed what everyone thought when he posted a few photos via Instagram of his vacation in the Bahamas. In one shot, he’s kissing a woman believed to be Megan. While you can’t see her face, fans are pointing out the voluminous curls just like the ones she sported in her poolside pics. Another shot shows two people holding hands and fans are convinced that’s Megan’s manicured nails.
Klay captioned the images, “Sweet Bells son” with a palm tree and a coconut emoji.
Megan Thee Stallion’s age
Megan Thee Stallion was born Megan Pete in San Antonio, Texas, on Feb. 15, 1995, making her exactly five years and seven days younger than her new beau.
Klay isn’t the first NBA player Megan’s been linked to. She was thought to be in a relationship in 2024 with Chicago Bulls star Torrey Craig after accidentally sharing a clip of herself carrying out a couple’s challenge on TikTok.
Before that, the “Captain Hook” artist dated fellow rapper Moneybagg Yo. He said they split because they just “didn’t see eye to eye,” but he had nothing but love for her and wished her the best.
Megan was also with rapper, Pardison, from 2021 to 2023. Their breakup was confirmed when she attended a wedding with Belgian soccer player Romelu Lukaku.
