How many times was Burt Bacharach married?
Throughout the course of Bacharach’s long life, he married several women.
He first wed actress Paula Stewart in 1953 but they later divorced in 1958.
Seven years later, he then married Gun the Man Down actress Angie Dickinson, however, they parted ways in 1981.
Bacharach’s third marriage was to singer/songwriter Carole Bayer Sager in 1982 but it also ended in divorce in 1991.


Two years later, he then married Melbourne Theatre Company Chair Jane Hansen, who he was with up until his 2023 death.
At the time of his passing, he had been married a total of four times.
When speaking about his marriages in a 2015 interview with The Telegraph, he said that he “didn’t mean to hurt anybody.”
“I thought I was a good kid, and I didn’t mean to hurt anybody,” he told the outlet, “but when you wind up being married four times, there are a lot of bodies strewn in your wake.”

What was Burt Bacharach’s cause of death?
Bacharach passed away in his Los Angeles, California, home on February 8, 2023.
The death was ultimately confirmed by his publicist, Tina Brausam, but a cause was not released.
Bacharach was known for his work with lyricist Hal David and had composed countless songs before his passing.
He was arguably best known for his work on Jackie DeShannon’s What The World Need Now Is Love, BJ Thomas’ Raindrops Keep Falling On My Head, and Herb Alpert’s This Guy’s In Love With You.

Along with having four marriages, Bacharach also had four children.
He first welcomed daughter Nikki during his marriage to Dickinson and then son Cristopher during his marriage to Sager.
He later welcomed his younger son, Oliver, and younger daughter, Raleigh, during his marriage to Hansen.
Tragically, Bacharach’s eldest daughter committed suicide in 2007 at the age of 40.


“She quietly and peacefully committed suicide to escape the ravages to her brain brought on by Asperger’s,” the family said in a statement at the time, via The Hollywood Reporter.
Nikki had suffered from Asperger’s Disorder, also known as Asperger’s syndrome, a form of high-functioning autism.
