Travis Kelce has captured the attention of NFL fans and entertainment lovers alike. The Kansas City Chiefs tight end hosted Prime’s Are You Smarter Than a Celebrity? and had cameos in Grotesquerie and Happy Gilmore 2. His relationship with pop queen Taylor Swift has likely greatly contributed to his opportunities in the entertainment industry. While Kelce is likely looking to expand upon his budding career in movies and TV, Hollywood executives might have other names on the brain.
An insider told Life & Style that industry bigwigs are eyeing actor Hailee Steinfeld’s fiancée, Josh Allen. Allen plays as a quarterback for the Buffalo Bills.
“Even before he and Hailee became an item, Josh was emerging as one of Hollywood’s most interesting football stars, especially for studio executives who are dismissive of the hype around Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift‘s relationship,” the source explained.
The insider noted that Allen “has the total package,” and Steinfeld’s impressive career also helps. “Josh isn’t somebody you turn into a cheesy game show host or reality star; he’s a guy you can put into the kind of big movies that Hailee has been making since she was a little kid,” the source continued.
Travis Kelce ‘hasn’t taken off the training wheels’ when it comes to Hollywood, a source alleged
While Travis Kelce might hope to make it big in Hollywood, it’s going to take a lot more than a few cameos and hosting a game show. An insider told The U.S. Sun that Kelce is having a “tricky” time transitioning from NFL star to entertainment elite.
“Travis is a star because of his relationship with Taylor Swift, his championship football prowess, and the natural charisma he has shown on his podcast and elsewhere,” the source explained. “But making the transition to a true Hollywood mainstay is a lot trickier. And his hosting gig on Are You Smarter Than a Celebrity? isn’t the instant stepping stone to the A-list it might have seemed when he signed up for the gig.”
The source added that Kelce still “hasn’t taken off the training wheels” despite the “hype” surrounding him. And he might continue to need Swift’s name to give him a boost in the industry.
The Kansas City Chiefs star likely isn’t ready to call it quits on the NFL
Travis Kelce has toyed with the idea of retiring from the Kansas City Chiefs and embracing acting. However, he told Stephen A. Smith before Super Bowl LIX that he couldn’t “fathom” giving up the NFL.
“I’m so deep in chasing this one right now, I can’t even fathom what football would be like, like, not playing football, as a profession,” Kelce explained. “I still love coming into the building every single day. Does it get hard? Yeah. But, I’m not doing it for the stats. I’m doing it for the greatness, the legacy that we’ve created here in Kansas City …. I can’t fathom what it would feel like being able to say that I’m satisfied because I’m still hungry to go and get something right now.”
