‘Grey’s Anatomy’ star Caterina Scorsone saves daughters from tragic house fire

“Grey’s Anatomy” star Caterina Scorsone revealed she lost nearly everything in a house fire a couple of months ago.

In a lengthy Instagram post on Monday, the actress reflected on the importance of community after dealing with such a tragedy.

“While getting my kids ready for bed and finishing bath time, smoke began to seep up through the grout around the tub,” she captioned a photo of her destroyed living room. “When I looked down the hallway a river of thick black smoke had already formed and was filling the house.”

The actress, 41, says she only had “about two minutes” to get her three daughters — Lucky, 3, Eliza, 10, and Paloma “Pippa” Michaela, 6 — out of the house, but thankfully they “escaped with less than shoes on our feet.”

“I am eternally grateful,” she said. “Heartbreakingly, we lost all four of our pets. We are still sitting with that loss, but we are lucky we got to love them at all.”

Despite the traumatic experience, the actress — who plays Dr. Amelia Shepherd on the hit ABC series — has been able to find a silver lining.

“This is not a post about a fire,” she continued. “This is a post about community. This is a love letter to the incredible people that showed up and the incredible ways that they did.”

She went on to thank the brave firefighters, her neighbors for taking her in, and her friends and family — including the cast and crew at “Grey’s” — for helping them get back on their feet.

“What we learned is that the only thing that matters are the people (and beings) that you love,” she concluded the post. “The only thing that matters is community. We would not be here without it and we are so grateful.”

The actress attached a series of photos of her beloved pets — three cats and a dog — as well as a photo of her three daughters, whom she shares with ex Rob Giles.

She and Giles wed in 2009 but called it quits nearly 11 years later.
