Glastonbury fans ‘work out’ huge US rock icons ‘have been booked to play Sunday slot’ after UK gig dates are announced

GLASTO fans are buzzing with speculation as rumours circulate that iconic American rock band, Deftones, could be headlining the coveted Sunday slot at next year’s festival.

The rumours come after the band recently unveiled their UK tour date in London – which aligns suspiciously well with Glastonbury’s traditional line-up schedule.

Eagle-eyed fans took to the internet forum Reddit to discuss the possibility that the band could be making the high profile appearance.

One fan commented: “Deftones have played the other stage before and dates appears to line up (so far) so it is possible.”

“We can only hope (Unless anyone on the booking team lurks on this subreddit then f***ing book them!)” penned another.

“I think it could happen, but i honestly wouldn’t get my hopes up. Aside from the fact that Glastonbury have a tendency to really half arse it with heavy acts, they’d be far more suited to something like Download or even Outbreak,” added a third.

It comes as the rock titans revealed their biggest headline UK show of their entire career.

The group will play in London’s Crystal Palace Park on Sunday 29th June 2025 for their first concert in the UK in three years.

Deftones was first formed in Sacramento, California back in 1988.

The members include frontman Chino Moreno, Stephen Carpenter, Abe Cunningham with Chi Cheng and Frank Delgado joining the band in 1990 and 1999.

The group shot to fame with the release of their debut album Adrenaline in 1995.
