Gilmore Girls fans were thrilled when Scott Patterson, Lauren Graham, and Sean Gunn posted about Stars Hollow on Instagram. While there was initially chatter about a potential second revival announcement, it was not meant to be. Instead, the uploads were to promote the three stars appearing in a Walmart ad together. That ad brings Stars Hollow back to life eight years after fans reconnected with the town and its beloved inhabitants in Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life. Now, fans are theorizing about Rory Gilmore’s life thanks to the short commercial.

The Walmart ad featuring Loelai Gilmore, Luke Danes, and Kirk Gleason isn’t anything groundbreaking. The commercial advertises a Keurig available at the retailer this holiday season. The ad utilizes the iconic Luke’s Diner to get its message across. While the ad might not be specifically about Gilmore Girls, the look of Luke’s Diner has led to fans making plenty of assumptions.
In the ad, Luke’s is decorated with Christmas decorations. The handmade wreath and craft project reindeer have some fans theorizing that Rory Gilmore’s child did the artwork. After all, Luke Danes was vehemently opposed to decorating for holidays. It was a point of contention between the diner owner and town selectman, Taylor Doosey. If he opted to put up decorations, as shown in the commercial, it likely came from someone he loves and cares about. Given the nature of the decor, a kid probably made it.
Assuming the artwork was made by Rory Gilmore’s child, we can make more assumptions about her life today. The inclusion of the decor at the diner suggests that Rory and her child are currently living in or near Stars Hollow. At the very least, they must be close enough for the child to deliver their artwork to Luke.
Does that mean she’s still single or back with one of her former lovers? It’s impossible to say. Sure, Rory would likely settle down close to home if she opted to raise her child as a single parent. Still, it’s equally likely that both Jess Mariano and Logan Huntzberger, her two main love interests, would be willing to move to the area to keep Rory happy.
