Gerry Turner returned to the limelight recently to offer a grim update. The first ever golden bachelor revealed he was diagnosed with cancer. Turner said the diagnosis, which came just weeks before his split from Theresa Nist, was largely to blame for his divorce. He said he had to reprioritize his life after the diagnosis, and Nist became less important. Apparently, that doesn’t mean he’s giving up on finding a life partner. Turner recently revealed he is dating again. The Golden Bachelor star apparently has found someone special.

In his shocking update with People, Gerry Turner said he had reprioritized his life following his cancer diagnosis. He insisted that he wanted to spend more time with his family, considering the serious nature of his health condition. Still, he has time to find love. In fact, Turner is very much still open to finding “Mrs. Right,” and he’s currently seeing someone who might fit the bill.
After discussing his cancer diagnosis with People, Fox News caught up with Turner, who revealed he has been “dating” a little bit since ending his marriage to Nist. While nothing has moved to the next level, he admitted that he is currently seeing someone who could become someone special in his life. It’s unclear when he’ll feel comfortable going public with his new relationship.
Nist, who didn’t date much following the death of her first husband, Billy, in 2014, has appeared on several podcasts to discuss her divorce from Gerry Turner. She has not said she’s dating anyone yet or discussed the possibility of looking for love again.
Gerry Turner has moved on quickly before
While Gerry Turner moved past his divorce from Theresa Nist pretty quickly, it’s not the first time he’s moved on from a love rapidly. He reportedly moved on surprisingly soon after his first wife’s death, despite what he said during The Golden Bachelor.
Just days before the finale of The Golden Bachelor season 1 aired, The Hollywood Reporter published an interview with a woman Turner dated before embarking on his love journey on The Golden Bachelor. According to Turner’s former flame, she and the Indiana native linked up for the first time just a few weeks after his wife’s death.
She told the publication that she saw Turner at the visitation held for Toni Turner in July 2017. In August, Turner had contacted the anonymous ex, whom he had known in a professional capacity before his wife’s death. She said the texts turned flirty quickly, and they began seeing each other. They even lived together before Turner ended the relationship and asked her to leave their shared home.
