Future of Richard Hammond’s solo TV show revealed after calling time on The Grand Tour with Jeremy Clarkson & James May

THE fate of Richard Hammond’s solo TV show has been revealed amid his divorce from estranged wife Mindy.

Earlier this year The Sun exclusively revealed how the petrol head had moved out of the family castle he shared with his wife after she “had enough”.

However, in some good news for Richard, his motoring show – self-titled Richard Hammond’s Workshop – has been renewed for another series.

Bosses have officially green lit a fifth instalment of the fan-favourite show which follows Richard, 55, as he repairs and restores classical cars.

The series, which airs on Quest TV and streamable on Discovery+, started in 2021 with the founding of his restoration company The Smallest Cog.

A source said: “Richard Hammond’s Workshop has been a huge success for Discovery+’s streaming service and is one of their biggest factual titles.

“Another eight episodes have been ordered by bosses and Richard is delighted to be able to throw himself back into filming.

“His daughter Izzy will once again star in the show as she tries to bring her dad and the business into the digital age with her skills.

“Fans can expect to see the fifth series later in October.”

Mindy, 59, starred in one episode of the motoring hit, back in 2021 during its first series.

Meanwhile, Richard previously reunited with his former Top Gear and Grand Tour co-host James May as they revisited the Top Gear’s abandoned studios.

As part of James May’s YouTube series called Planet Gin, he and Richard returned to the site in Dunsfold Aerodrome.

Reminiscing about their time at the location, the pair admitted their trip down memory lane might be “traumatising”.

James, 62, told viewers: “Well that is the old Top Gear studio. And that is the old Top Gear green room.”

Richard added: “Where we assembled, worked on scripts, had arguments. I feel funny. I feel funny as well. I felt really odd being here.”
