The star shared with fans that she’d had a bone graft before being diagnosed with Gastritis, a condition when your stomach lining becomes red and swollen.
Taking to her Stories, she wrote: “GUESS WHO HAD A LIL EMERGENCY OPERATION AND A BONE GRAFT AND TOOK ANTI BIOTICS AND PAIN KILLERS AND WOKE UP WITH GASTRITIS?!”
On a lighter note, she added: “Please send me funny animal videos at this HORRENDOUS time. Fork everything.”
Jameela is an actress, activist and presenter who began her career fronting T4 from 2009 until 2012.

She later started hosting The Official Chart and The Official Chart Update on BBC Radio 1 with Scott Mills.
Jameela was the station’s first regular solo female presenter.
In 2020, the podcaster came out as queer after facing backlash for taking on a judging role on the TV show, Legendary.
Jameela, who has dated musician James Blake since 2015, revealed she was forced to come out after keeping her sexuality a secret for years.
Taking to Twitter, Jameela shared a lengthy note after sparking backlash over her decision to take part in the U.S. show about voguing.
The note read: “This is why I never officially came out as queer. I added a rainbow to my name when I felt ready a few years ago, as it’s not easy withing the south Asian community to be accepted, and I always answered honestly if ever straight up asked about it on Twitter.
“But I kept it low because I was scared of the pain of being accused of performative bandwagon jumping, over something that caused me a lot of confusion, fear and turmoil when I was a kid.
“I didn’t come from a family with *anyone* openly out.”
She continued: “It’s also scary as an actor to openly admit your sexuality, especially when you’re already a brown female in your thirties. This is absolutely not how I wanted to come out.”
Jameela explained she was taking a break from social media, adding: “You can keep your thoughts.”
The star later shared another post to defend her role on the dance show.
What is Gastritis?
GASTRITIS is a condition when your stomach lining becomes red and swollen.
It can cause all sorts of uncomfortable symptoms, including burping and farting, the NHS says.
You might also experience:
- Tummy pain
- Indigestion
- Feeling full and bloated
- Nausea
- Vomiting
You should see your GP is you have tummy pain or indigestion for longer than a week or if your tummy pain is getting worse or keeps returning.
She said: “I know that being queer doesn’t qualify me as ballroom. But I have privilege and power and a large following to bring this show (as does the absolutely iconic Megan Thee Stallion) and it’s beautiful contestants and ballroom hosts.
“Sometimes it takes those with more power to help a show get off the ground so we can elevate marginalised stars that deserve the limelight and give them a chance.
“I’m just a lead judge to my 11 years of hosting experience, being fully impartial, a newcomer to ballroom (like much of the audience will be) and therefore a window in for people who are just discovering it now, and being a long time ally of the lgbtq community.”
