Florence Pugh defends her ‘cute little nipples’ after Valentino sheer dress backlash: ‘Not trying to hide’

Don’t worry darling, Miss Flo isn’t done defending her right to free the nipple.

Florence Pugh praised her “cute little nipples” after facing major backlash for wearing a sheer Barbie pink gown to the Valentino Haute Couture fashion show in July 2022.

Pugh, 27, covered the October Elle UK issue and talked to fellow British actress Jodie Turner-Smith about her personal style and body baring gowns.

“I speak the way I do about my body because I’m not trying to hide the cellulite on my thigh or the squidge in between my arm and my boob: I would much rather lay it all out,” Pugh said, before discussing the surprisingly controversial look.

“I think the scariest thing for me are the instances where people have been upset that I’ve shown ‘too much’ of myself,” Florence revealed.

“When everything went down with the Valentino pink dress a year ago, my nipples were on display through a piece of fabric, and it really wound people up,” the “Little Women” star continued.

“Unfortunately, we’ve become so terrified of the human body that we can’t even look at my two little cute nipples behind fabric in a way that isn’t sexual.

We need to keep reminding everybody that there is more than one reason for women’s bodies [to exist],” she concluded.

Despite the backlash she received from social media trolls about the Valentino dress, which the “Midsommar” star called “alarming” last year, Pugh told Elle “every woman I walked past would say, ‘You look like you’re having so much fun.’ And I was!”

The “Don’t Worry Darling” star explained that some of her “proudest moments of embracing [her] body have been in Pierpaolo [Piccioli’s] gowns,” adding, “Every single time I step out in Valentino, it’s like my armor.”

The “Oppenheimer” actress defended the Valentino gown multiple times in the past, posing the rhetorical question to Vogue in January, “How can my nipples offend you?”

Florence was such a fan of the see-through frock she donned a similar style (this time in lavender) one year after the viral debacle at the 2022 Valentino Haute Couture fashion show.
