Justine Bateman is fully embracing the aging process, and she doesn’t care what anyone thinks about it.
The 57-year-old actress, who began her career as a teenager on the ’80s sitcom “Family Ties,” explained on “60 Minutes Australia” that she didn’t even realize people were commenting on her appearance until she Googled herself.
“I needed to Google something to do a little research and remind myself of something that happened when I was famous,” the writer and director said. “So I put in my name, Googled my name, Justine Bateman, and then the auto-complete came up, which was ‘looks old.’
“And I was only 42 at the time — 40, 42 — and I was like, ‘What?’” she went on. “And I looked at the pictures that they had as evidence, and I couldn’t see what they were talking about.”

When asked if she thought there was “beauty in aging,” Bateman replied, “Well, when you say, ‘Is there beauty in aging?,’ aren’t you really saying, ‘Do you think it’s possible for other people to find aging beautiful?’ And like, I just don’t give a s–t.
“I think I look rad. I think my face represents who I am. I like it. And so that’s basically the end of the road.”

The “Face: One Square Foot of Skin” author acknowledged that there are certainly tweaks she could make, but she ultimately feels they would “erase” all the “authority” she has.
“I like feeling that I’m a different person now than I was when I was 20,” she explained. “And I like looking in the mirror and seeing that evidence.”
Bateman added that she feels “sad” for women who obsess over trying to look young.
“I feel sad that they’re not just enjoying life. I feel sad that they are distracted from the things that they’re meant to do in life with this consuming idea that they’ve gotta fix their face before anything else can happen,” she said.
Her advice is to “forget about your face” and let go of “the fear that is making you think that the fact that your face is wrinkled is gonna X out a bunch of opportunities for you.”
