Elton John reveals ‘severe’ infection left him with limited vision in one eye

Elton John is “still standing” despite battling a serious eye infection.

“Over the summer, I’ve been dealing with a severe eye infection that has unfortunately left me with only limited vision in one eye,” the singer, 77, shared in a statement on Instagram Tuesday.

“I am healing, but it’s an extremely slow process and it will take some time before sight returns to the impacted eye.”

The “Rocket Man” crooner went on to offer thanks to his “excellent team of doctors and nurses.”

He also expressed gratitude for his family — husband David Furnish and their sons, Zachary, 13, and Elijah, 11 — who have “taken such good care of me over the last several weeks.”

John has spent the summer “recuperating at home” and is feeling positive about the progress “I have made in my healing and recovery thus far.”

The musician ended the update with a sign-off of “love and gratitude.”

After John shared his message, fans — and some celebrities — flooded the comments section with positive messages.

“Get well soon Sir Elton,” Carnie Wilson wrote, adding that she and her father — Beach Boys singer Brian Wilson — “were watching your concert together yesterday. He was loving Bennie And The Jets. ❤️.”

“Love to you Elton and sending good energy for your healing. ✌🏼😳✌🏼💙,” wrote Rosanna Arquette while fashion designer Donatella Versace commented: “Sending you so much love Elton! Feel better soon. Love you ♥️♥️♥️.”

Last year, the “Lion King” composer suffered another health mishap when he was briefly hospitalized after slipping at his villa in Nice, France.

“We can confirm that following a slip yesterday at his home in the South of France, Elton visited the local hospital as a precautionary measure,” John’s rep told Page Six at the time.

“Following checkups, he was immediately discharged this morning and is now back at home and in good health.”

He also secretly battled prostate cancer in 2017 and underwent surgery to remove the gland.

Earlier this year, the legendary musician won his first Emmy, making him the 19th person to win an Emmy, an Oscar, a Tony and a Grammy — known as EGOT status.
