Ellen Pompeo made a rare appearance with her daughter Sienna at Michael Kors New York fashion show.
On Wednesday, the “Grey’s Anatomy” star was spotted whispering soothing words of encouragement and gently kissing Sienna’s head moments before they stepped onto the red carpet at the New York Fashion Week event.
Page Six later overheard the actress explaining that the couture outing was part of a special New York Valentine’s Day celebration with the youngster.
It was a rare sighting of the 8-year-old as the actress, 53, has rarely been photographed publicly with her children.
She also shares daughter Stella, 13, and son Eli, 6, with her husband, record producer Chris Ivery, whom she wed in 2007.
The “Old School” star kept Sienna’s birth a secret for two months before announcing it in October 2014. She later explained that “this baby was born via surrogate, so I felt an obligation to keep the surrogate’s privacy – that was of the utmost importance.”

The entire family made a rare appearance together last summer when they were snapped at the Dolce & Gabbana Alta Moda Women’s Show in Sicily, Italy.
Pompeo also shared some family photos on Instagram around the same time, including one of Sienna wearing a printed eye mask while clad in a robe.
“A weekend with the Maestri,” she captioned the shot.
Pompeo has more free time on her hands to attend fashion shows since leaving “Grey’s Anatomy.”
Last year, the actress shared an emotional message on Instagram as she prepared to film her final “Grey’s Anatomy” episode.
“I am eternally grateful and humbled by the love and support you have all shown me, Meredith GREY and the show for 19 seasons!,” she wrote alongside a selfie. “Through it all….none of it …would have been possible without the best fans in the world.”
Pompeo had been with the series since its premiere in 2005.
