Eighties movie icon, 72, has barely aged at all – 42 years after hit movie with Harrison Ford

EIGHTIES movie icon Karen Allen has barely aged a day in the 42 years since she worked with Harrison Ford.

Karen, 72, who starred as Marion Ravenwood in Indiana Jones: Raiders of the Lost Ark, looks incredible all this time later.

The actress recently reminisced about her experiences and the legacy of the movie as it celebrated its 40th anniversary.

Released in 1981, Raiders of the Lost Ark quickly became a cultural phenomenon, establishing Indiana Jones as a legendary character and solidifying Karen’s place in cinematic history.

In an interview with People, Karen shared her thoughts on working with director Steven Spielberg and co-star Harrison.

She fondly recalled her time working on the picture, telling the magazine: “It’s extraordinary! The fact that people are still seeing the film, talking about the film, having an interest in the film, it’s amazing.”

She added: “Steven came to New York City to meet, not just me, but some other actors he was interested in meeting for the film.

“I didn’t know anything about the film. They were being very secretive about it. They gave me the scene in the bar, and then I was in love. I fell in love with Marion, and then I really wanted the role.”

The talented star continued: “It’s amazing, and wonderful. It’s just one of those films that seems like it gets passed from generation to generation, and it stayed very beloved.”

She went on to praise Steven’s vision and Harrison’s dedication, noting that their collaboration created an unforgettable film.

Her portrayal of Marion was groundbreaking at the time, presenting a strong, independent female character who could hold her own alongside the male lead.

She expressed pride in how Marion was depicted, highlighting the character’s resilience and resourcefulness.

Karen said she believes Marion’s influence can still be seen in modern cinema, inspiring a new generation of strong female characters.

The Saturn Award winner is still busy working today, and even reprised he role in Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny last year.
