Electronic-pop star Alison take to the stage at the Playhouse following the release of her forthcoming album The Love Invention and a performance at Glastonbury.
Other highlights from the programme include residencies from the London Symphony Orchestra, the Budapest Festival Orchestra, and the Simón Bolívar Symphony Orchestra Of Venezuela.
Comprising 295 separate events from August 4-27, Edinburgh International Festival 2023 features work from over 2000 local and international artists from across 48 nations.
This year the closing weekend of the festival will see Charlotte Square Garden reopened with music broadcast into the historic space.

The Edinburgh International Festival’s first female director, Nicola Benedetti, said she is hopeful audiences will show a little “bravery” as the programme for the event’s 76th year was unveiled.
Nicola said: “Where do we go from here?’ At a time of huge change and challenge across the world, it seems timely to pause to think about which artists can speak to this question and perhaps attempt to answer it, from a range of different perspectives.
“As a Festival, the Edinburgh International Festival has long been dedicated to advocating world-class music making and innovating new ways to bring it to audiences.
“I am immensely proud of this year’s programme and look forward to expanding on this legacy in 2023”.
