DUA LIPA has discovered life in plastic is not so fantastic, because she is barely in the new Barbie movie.
I can reveal the pop superstar is on screen as her character Mermaid Barbie for a total of just 30 seconds during the entire 114-minute film.

10
In fact, despite attending the premieres in Los Angeles and London and writing a song for the soundtrack, Dua only says a grand total of 16 words — two of which are the movie’s name.
She has five tiny cameos where she is seen by the audience, but her most prominent scene amounts to her offering John Cena’s merman character a beer.
I can’t help but feel Dua took her plan to start acting with “baby steps” a little too seriously, given you could practically blink and miss her in the Margot Robbie-fronted blockbuster.
Talking about getting into acting last year, she said: “For me it’s like baby steps.

“That’s also just the best way to discover yourself as well.
“Rather than throwing yourself in the deep end with something that maybe you can’t completely tackle head on.
“I think my biggest fear would be taking on a really big role and being, like, ‘F***! — now I have to be an actor and feel these emotions and feelings on camera,’ when I haven’t brought myself up to that point yet.”
Thankfully Dua is likely to have a larger part in her next movie, spy action thriller Argylle, starring Henry Cavill, which is due out next February.
However, Dua performed surprisingly well in Barbie compared to some other familiar faces.
Welsh comic actor Rob Brydon appears as a Ken doll for a grand total of six seconds.
Joking about it on Twitter yesterday as the movie hit cinemas, he tweeted: “Today’s the day! My new movie Barbie opens.
“I had an incredible 12 hours working on this and can’t wait for you to see it.”
That’s even more than Love Island’s Chris Taylor, who got cast as a Ken doll because Margot is a big fan of the ITV2 dating series.
He is on screen for two seconds, uttering the line: “The Nobel Prize for horses goes to Ken.”
I doubt that Quentin Tarantino will be calling any time soon.

ROB: I FEEL SO GOOD IN MY FORTIES
ROBBIE WILLIAMS is happier than ever as he approaches his 50th birthday, but is still “teetering on anxiety and darkness”.
The Rock DJ singer, who is in the middle of a European tour and plays two sell-out dates on the Sandringham Estate next month, reckons becoming a father of four and marrying US actress Ayda Field has given him a solid purpose in life away from his pop career.

10
But he still struggles with his mental health. Robbie said: “It’s an ongoing battle.
“I can tell you at 49, my forties have been my best decade mentally.
“It’s up and down. I suppose when I have nothing to do or no responsibilities other than being a dad and husband, I am kind of OK.
“And OK is an incredible place to reach. I am not asking for being at the top of any mountain or jumping for joy – being OK is mammoth.”
That said, Robbie admitted he still isn’t where he wants to be, despite shedding 4st and overhauling his lifestyle.
“Ahead of his milestone birthday in February, he said: “I’ve got my 50th coming up. Maybe there is a different way to be and do things.
“That gives me an idea for a TV programme . . . ‘Robbie Williams Does Things Differently’ and I just give those things a go. I am constantly teetering on anxiety and darkness.
“It doesn’t take much to set me off so I desperately need eight hours of sleep and if I don’t get eight hours I’m not much use to anybody – no more so than myself.”
STAR HAS LOR OF NERVE
TWO-TIME Eurovision winner Loreen only entered the annual singing contest to try to get over her stage fright.
The Swedish star, who triumphed in 2012 with Euphoria and this year with Tattoo, said she chucked herself in at the deep end and it has helped her become a better performer.

Speaking in a new Marie Claire magazine cover story, she explained: “I was afraid of standing on stage, so what did I do?
“I put myself in such a brutal situation. Can you imagine the fear of standing in front of millions of people?
“It was my hardest experience. I knew it was going to be painful – and it was throughout the whole performance.
“I was so afraid but I knew it was necessary, so I did it.
“After that, the fear was not completely gone, but I took it step by step, and it was necessary.”
EXEC HARL-Y KNOWS GAGA
LADY GAGA insists on being called Lee on the set of Joker 2: Folie A Deux – which is thought to be short for the name of her character, Harley Quinn.
The star, known for being a fan of method acting, has left execs feeling a little unsettled with her demand.

10
In fact the film’s cinematographer, Larry Sher, says he feels like he’s “never really met” the singer.
Revealing he felt the on-set dynamic shift after Gaga made the name request, he told the Talking Trenches TV podcast: “Everything changed. From that point on, our connection changed.”
Joker 2, which also stars Joaquin Phoenix, will be out in October.
WE’VE HOUND YOU, DRAKE
DRAKE has a novel way of making sure fans don’t pester him, even if this mask does make him look ruff.
The rapper wore a rubber rottweiler headpiece while leaving his hotel in New York on Thursday, ahead of the latest show on his It’s All A Blur tour with 21 Savage.

The strange get-up is subtle promo for his upcoming album, which was announced last month and is called For All The Dogs.
He is yet to reveal when it will be out but I’m sure he has plenty more dog-themed stunts to pull before it comes.
Perhaps he can run around on all fours or drink out of a bowl?
On second thoughts, maybe he should just drop the peculiar stunts before people go off him altogether.
IT’S LANA DEL CAFE
SHE’S an in-demand star with six No1 albums but Lana Del Rey looks even more at home making coffee and cooking waffles than she does on stage.
The Video Games singer surprised diners at a fast food restaurant in Alabama when she pulled on a uniform, complete with a name badge, and got to work.

Lana, who is worth £23million, posed for photos with fans in the outfit after helping out at a branch of Waffle House.
It was later claimed that she was given the uniform and name tag by employees and she decided to have a laugh by waiting tables and appearing in the kitchen.
You’re welcome to come and do a shift on Bizarre any time, Lana.
CAMILA BLACK IN THE GAME
CAMILA CABELLO is back in the dating game after splitting with fellow singer Shawn Mendes for the second time – and I’m sure there were plenty of blokes trying to get her number when she walked the red carpet in this slinky dress.
She wore the chic black number to the Premios Juventud Awards in Puerto Rico on Thursday, where she picked up an Agent of Change award.

The accolade recognises dedication to improving the lives of young people worldwide.
Camila released third album Familia in April last year, featuring Ed Sheeran collaboration Bam Bam and the single Don’t Go Yet and has recently been back in the studio.

In between sessions though, she has been jetting around the world, including a recent trip to Paris Fashion Week.
Given how great she’s looking, she’s clearly doing something right.
