Drake was met with mixed reactions from fans after he shared a mirror selfie debuting his latest hairstyle which featured pigtails and barrettes.
The “God’s Plan” hitmaker shared the selfie on his Instagram Story Tuesday night and let the photo do all the talking as he didn’t bother to caption the snapshot.
In the post, Drake styled his hair in sleek pigtails, parted down the middle, and accessorized the look with baby blue bubble barrettes.
The 37-year-old rocked an all-denim look with baggy jeans and a matching button-up shirt complete with a leather varsity-style football jacket. Drake tied the ensemble together with white Nike Air Force 1 sneakers.
“Drake going thru [sic] his mid life crisis..what the hell possessed him to go put his hair in pigtails and pose with duck lips lol..just give us the slaps my boy,” one fan wrote via X (formerly Twitter) on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, another fan slammed Drake for rocking the hairstyle as he approaches his 38th birthday next week.
“Drake with those f–king pigtails, EIGHT DAYS away from being THIRTY EIGHT years old is pissing me off so bad,” they posted.
A third fan questioned why the father of one would opt for the trendy hairstyle.
“Drake gotta be trolling at this point because why pigtails? 😅,” they wrote.
Yet another took to social media to admit that she would never date a man who wore pigtails.
“If I went on a date with a man that had them pigtails drake got , I would go right back home. Idgaf how much $$ he got lmaoo look wild asf,” she commented.
Despite the backlash, several fans came to the “One Dance” hitmaker’s defense, with one even comparing him to fellow rapper Snoop Dogg.
“Snoop dog wore his hair like this and all crazy hairstyles all [sic] time in his young years and everybody loved it from what I saw as a kid lol so what’s the problem with drake rockin his hair🤷🏽♀️,” the fan wrote.
“yall just hate my drake that’s all😒 leave him alone!”
Another supporter chimed in, “Drake got more hair then a lot of you bitches 😂🤪.”
This is not the first time that the Toronto native has rocked an unconventional hairstyle. In fact, he previously wore a head full of hair clips in October 2023.
Drake styled his hair with the colorful accessories while promoting his album “For All The Dogs.”
He also previously opened up about his hairline in 2021 when he claimed that having COVID-19 wreaked havoc on his hair.
“I had Covid that s–t grew in weird,” Drake wrote on a fan Instagram account at the time. “I had to start again.”
