Her career spanned over three decades, which saw her make cameo appearances in shows such as ER, Desperate Housewives, and Star Trek: Voyager.
Raver, from Pennsylvania, played Mrs. Ganush in Drag Me to Hell – a movie which featured the actors Alison Lohman and Justin Long.
Mrs Ganush was an elderly gypsy woman, who requests a mortgage extension but is blocked when she tries to get one from the bank.
Raver recalled how she only read one scene of the film when she tried out for the role.
She told Dread Central that she wasn’t a horror fan.
“Originally I only read the bank scene, which seemed ordinary enough,” she wrote.
“Then, when I finally got the full script, I realized just how over the top most of the movie was.”
Raver revealed that she was fascinated by how powerful Mrs Ganush was when she learned about the role, per The Hollywood Reporter.
One of Raver’s first acting roles was a cameo in the show Opportunity Knocks.
She also starred in shows such as The Bold and the Beautiful, Reasonable Doubts, and Getting By during the 1990s.
Raver played Dr. Anne Adelstein in the hit medical series ER in 1996.
In the 2000s, her acting credits included cameos in Star Trek: Voyager, Gilmore Girls, and Desperate Housewives where she played Judge Sullivan.
In 2005, she played Big Kathy in an episode of Malcolm in the Middle.
Her acting credits included appearances in shows such as NYPD Blue, Grey’s Anatomy, and Nip/Tuck.
Raver featured in 26 episodes of The Young and the Restless between 1997 and 2007.
In the show, she played the characters Rebecca Kaplan and Helen Miller.
Raver also starred in the films Freeway and Armored.
Away from the screen, she was in a relationship with the writer Yuri Rasovsky for 25 years.
He died in January 2012 at the age of 67.
Raver won several Earphones Awards during her career for being an audiobook narrator.
