Dominic Fike confirms breakup from ‘Euphoria’ co-star Hunter Schafer ahead of Season 3

Dominic Fike and his “Euphoria” co-star Hunter Schafer have called it quits.

The “Mona Lisa” singer subtly confirmed his updated relationship status while dishing on his struggle with co-dependency during his Apple Music interview with Zane Lowe on Wednesday.

“I’m just done being in relationships right now,” he said.

Speaking about how he has viewed love as needing someone, the artist claimed he wanted time alone to get out of the “loop.”

“That has actually bled into my romantic relationships, that kind of dynamic,” Fike, 27, admitted. “And it is often the cause of the end of my relationship.”

While giving a glimpse into his past tight-lipped romance with Schafer, 24, the “3 Nights” singer opened up about the fun times they had together and how it made him realize he couldn’t be alone.

“I could make music around her, which was crazy,” Fike said. “I was looking through songs the other day and found one that I made with her. I was like, ‘Man, that was so cool.’

“But the fact of me saying that — of being uncomfortable being alone — what’s a bad thing. So, I decided to just be alone for a while.”

When asked about returning to set for the third season of “Euphoria” with his ex, the artist doesn’t believe there will be any tension.

“I think it’ll be fine. We’re all adults kind of. I’m trying,” he said.

The estranged couple were first romantically linked in January 2022 when they were spotted holding hands at The Nice Guy restaurant in West Hollywood.

A month later, they went public with their romance when Fike shared a photo on Instagram kissing Schafer during a birthday celebration.

But it wasn’t until May 2022 that the musician spoke out about his relationship with the model, claiming in an interview with GQ at the time that he was “very much in love.”

“In those moments, your relationship is accelerated because you’re so vulnerable with someone, immediately. Which usually takes a long time,” he said, dishing on how starring together in the HBO show fast-tracked their romance.

“Some people fall in love, like, f–king months after they meet, or years after. We developed an attraction — it sped it up so fast. We just really got to know each other so quickly.”
