Dolly Parton has spoken extensively about her love of Southern food, even publishing a cookbook to share her favorite recipes with fans. Parton likes to cook for the people close to her and has spoken about her struggles with trying to give up junk food over the years. While she has a number of recipes she loves, she said there is one particular food she favors more than most. She admitted she eats it every single day.
Dolly Parton said she can’t stay away from one type of food
Parton has traveled all over the world and tried many different cuisines and recipes. There’s one food she comes back to time and time again, though. She admitted she eats potatoes practically every single day.
“I have to have something with potatoes,” Parton told TODAY.com. “I mean, I’m just one of those people that I have to either have a baked potato, some mashed potatoes, or some french fries, or something to do with potatoes.”
She admitted that she doesn’t have much of a sweet tooth, and would rather opt for salty, starchy foods. She even relies on potatoes to get her through long studio sessions.
“If I’m recording, I just eat potato chips,” she told Insider. “Because the salt is good for my vocal cords. I can sing all day just doing that.”
While potatoes are a major staple in her diet, she is better at cooking chicken and dumplings. Parton said she cooks them every time she’s on a movie set. People love them, but she refuses to give out the recipe.
